At Shared Suitcase, we travel because it’s what we love. It’s not our job or a glamorous lifestyle—we work nine-to-fives, balancing deadlines and to-do lists like everyone else. But travel is where we find freedom, perspective, and inspiration. It’s how we reconnect with the world and ourselves, one journey at a time.

For us, travel is about experiences, not just destinations. It’s walking through the narrow streets of Florence, marvelling at the history in every brick. It’s feeling the energy of New York—chaotic, alive, and endlessly inspiring—or standing on a windswept coastline outside Bilbao, letting the vastness of the ocean remind us how small, and yet how connected, we are. These moments go beyond sightseeing; they are about soaking up the essence of a place and its people.

Off the Beaten Track

The best travel stories often begin where the main roads end. While cities like Copenhagen, Naples, and Kraków offer rich histories and undeniable beauty, we’ve always found that venturing beyond their borders adds another layer to the adventure. For us, travel isn’t just about ticking off landmarks—it’s about curiosity, the pull to see what’s around the next corner, whether it’s a hidden courtyard, a quiet walking trail, or a glimpse of daily life outside the city.

We love to dig deeper. To not only stand in the heart of San Francisco, gazing at the Golden Gate Bridge, but to let the city inspire us to explore further—to wander, discover, and embrace the unknown. Travel teaches us to appreciate the big moments and the little details that others might overlook.

Why We Travel

Travel enriches us in ways no other experience can. It pushes us out of our comfort zones, challenges our assumptions, and opens our eyes to different ways of life. From the warm hospitality of locals in Carcassonne to the vibrant colours and cultures of Seville, every destination teaches us something new—not just about the world, but about ourselves.

We travel not to escape, but to grow. To collect stories, not souvenirs. To remind ourselves that the world is vast, diverse, and worth exploring. We know that travel isn’t always easy or straightforward, but it’s always worth it. It keeps us curious, connected, and inspired, no matter how busy life gets.
