Review: Nyx Hotel Prague

If you’re looking for a hotel with a prime location, the Nyx Hotel Prague is hard to beat. A mere 10-minute stroll will have you at the Old Town Square with the famous Astronomical Clock, and a quick 15-minute walk will get you to the iconic Charles Bridge. Perfect for those who want to explore Prague’s landmarks without feeling like they’re in the middle of the tourist chaos.

Breakfast is solid, though not exactly a showstopper. You’ll find a good selection of fruit, yogurt, meats, cheeses, and some cooked options—enough to fuel your day, but nothing that’ll have you raving. Interestingly, there’s even wine on offer if you fancy a morning tipple. It’s an unexpected touch, but one that could set the tone for a leisurely start to your day – if that’s what you’re in to!

The room (308) we stayed in was a bit of a head-scratcher. Its unusual shape made it feel smaller than expected, but we arrived early and were warned about it by the friendly receptionist. It wasn’t a huge deal for us, as we were only looking to drop off our bags and head out into the city, but it’s worth noting.

The room itself was ok, but bits of it – particularly in the bathroom – were starting to look a bit dated, with paint coming off the pipe work etc. That said, a fantastic shower – warm and with really good pressure!

However, the biggest disappointment came with the linens. While the sheets were changed, one was replaced with a stained one—which is never a good look. It’s a small oversight, but when you’re paying for a certain level of comfort, it’s the kind of thing that sticks with you.

All in all, while the location and breakfast make this a solid option for travelers, our experience at the Nyx Hotel Prague didn’t quite measure up to our previous stays at other Nyx hotels, like in Warsaw. It didn’t ruin our trip but it wasn’t great.
