We had a fantastic stay at the Casual Rinascimento Firenze. The location is really hard to beat—it’s just a short walk to both the main square and the Uffizi, so you’re right in the heart of Florence but still tucked away in a quieter spot. It made sightseeing so easy, and it was great to be able to pop back to the hotel in minutes whenever we needed a break.
The area around Casual Rinascimento Firenze felt really safe, even at night. It’s set between Piazza San Firenze and Piazza Santa Croce, so you’re in the middle of everything but without the crowds that can make some parts of the city feel busy and chaotic. We walked around late in the evening, and it was quiet but still lively enough with locals and other tourists out and about. It’s a nice mix of being close to all the major sights but in a more relaxed, low-key part of town, which made us feel totally comfortable coming back after dark.
A great memory was grabbing a porchetta sandwich from a shop nearby after a night out and bringing it back to eat in the lobby. It was a simple but great way to end the evening and felt right for the area and hotel.
Big Room – Well Kitted Out
The room itself was huge, with these massive windows that went almost from floor to ceiling. The light pouring in was a real treat, and we had great views over the city. One thing we loved was how spacious it felt. Our room had its own little hallway, which gave it a nice, separate feel, like we were in our own little apartment in the city. Bathroom was nicely done and again, spacious.
Underground Spa in an Amphitheatre
We also really enjoyed the spa, which is set in what was once a Roman amphitheater – or the foundations of it atleast. After a long day of walking around, it was the perfect spot to unwind. It’s not massive, and from memory we had to book – but this also means that it is yours as a couple for that time (it is small!). The indoor pool and sauna were great, and there’s a nice relaxation area, so it felt like a calm escape right below the city.
The staff were friendly and helpful, making everything easy and comfortable. Breakfast was fine – not stellar by a long shot but nothing to complain about, and the location and rest of the offer really kind of makes it irrelevant for us – eat less breakfast, have more pasta for lunch!
Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Casual Rinascimento Firenze. The combination of the location, the spacious room, and the spa made it a great place to stay. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Florence!
